Abstract Organizations play a major role in the work-leisure balance of their employees. Leisure can help employees to relieve stress, restore energy, and enhance performance at work, making this an important topic of research in organizations. The purpose of this study is to conceptualize and establish constructs for “perceived organizational leisure support” to fill gaps in past research. The study applied a qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews with 20 respondents in the technology industry. The responses were summarized through rigorous content analysis into four constructs of perceived organizational leisure support: (1) instrumental leisure support; (2) time-based leisure support; (3) event-based leisure support; and (4) community-based leisure support. The analytical results of the study have echoed that leisure support is possibly an important resource exchange, and extends the theory of social exchange in organizations. Management implications and suggestions for future research are also presented.
