Abstract An important part of Lyocell fibers production is solvent recycling. Determining the content of the degradation products in the solvent will be helpful to select a reasonable solvent recovery process. However, a suitable method to simultaneously measure N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide and its main degradation products N-methylmorpholine and morpholine has not yet been reported, hence in this paper, a nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy method for quantitative analysis of N-methylmorpholine-N-oxide and its major degradation products was established. The feasibility of this nuclear magnetic resonance method was verified by using it to determine the contents of N-methyl morpholine-N-oxide, N-methylmorpholine, and morpholine in analytical samples and actual sample.
