Abstract Because of nonspecific biodistribution, and the resistance of cancer cells to chemotherapeutic agents, it is possible to develop cancer nanotherapeutics that are being replaced to solve these limitations. So, the fabrication of smart nano‐sized drug delivery systems shows a hopeful potential for clinical applications. Thus, we designed a magnetic/gold nanoparticles covered by pH‐sensitive PEGylated polymer for delivery of methotrexate as an anticancer and active targeting agent. Cell viability studies on cells exposed the ability of this nanocarrier in targeting to folate-receptor-positive tumors that confirmed by destroying of MCF7 cells (high-positive receptor) in more degrees than MDAMB231 cells (low-positive receptor).
