Despite improved perinatal care, eclampsia remains strongly associated with extremely serious or fatal complications (Duley 2009; Cipolla and Kraig 2011; Ghulmiyyah and Sibai 2012). Nearly 1 in 50 patients with eclampsia die (Duley 2009; Cipolla and Kraig 2011). Although maternal mortality is especially high in developing countries, preeclampsia and eclampsia are one of the top four causes of maternal deaths even in developed countries (Duley 2009; Cipolla and Kraig 2011; Ghulmiyyah and Sibai 2012). This report describes the two different cases of women with eclamptic seizures during pregnancy and postpartum period in order to underline the variable time of occurrence of the first symptoms and clinical course of the disease and its specificity and otherness depending on the patient.
