Abstract In this article, a three dimensional multilayered annular disk with internal heat generation under unsteady temperature distribution is considered. Finite integral transform method is used to eliminate the partial derivatives with respect to r, while Fourier series and Fourier transform are used to deal with the variables and z, respectively. Exact solution for the temperature distribution is obtained. The thermal bending moments, thermal deflection and the resulting thermal stresses are obtained and analyzed. The results obtained in series form are numerically evaluated and analyzed by using graphical illustrations.
