ABSTRACT In this study, the mass recovery of essential oils (EOs) remaining in the wastewater produced from the hydro-distillation of dill seeds has been investigated in the pulsed sieve plate column. The effect of parameters including; pulse intensity, dispersed-phase flow rate and nozzle size has been investigated. The Box-Behnken design was used to reduce the number of experiments, and a correlation was developed through the response surface method. Mass recovery of EOs increased with increasing pulse intensity and dispersed-phase flow rate, however, decreased with an increase in the nozzle size. Maximum mass recovery of essential oil of dill seeds was 38.65%.
