‘Urban Renewal and Resilience: Cities in Comparative Perspective’ was possibly the most interdisciplinary and global edition yet of the European Association for Urban History’s Biannual Conference. Held at Roma Tre University between 29 August and 1 September 2018, the meeting welcomed participants from as far afield as Tehran and Texas, and was characterized by numerous panels devoted to transnational approaches to the conference’s main theme. There were eighty-eight panels in total, many of which had multiple sessions within them, anchored by five plenary lectures. Given the theme, there was plenty on offer within this extensive programme for scholars interested in planning history and practice, especially in transnational perspective.
