This forum forced scholars to examine hard questions about what was and what is, and to give us the space to re fl ect on the swift evolution of higher education culture exacerbated by a pandemic. It forced our authors to write about and address the question concerning ways to sustain ourselves as faculty and scholars . The authors present thought-provoking and inspirational ideas to consider as we transition to what a postpandemic higher education culture should look like. I was honored to be asked to write this forum response and to contribute to an important conversation. It forced me to engage in a much-needed self-re fl ection on my past socialization as a graduate student, my career as I have pro-gressed from untenured to full professor, and now in my current role in addressing these issues as an administrator. However, it is my hope that this forum can serve as a catalyst for more than re fl ection and discussion; I hope to see this forum as a catalyst for meaningful action and change.
