Lindig 1733 (H-SOL 2609004!, c.sp.; isolectotype: PC 0728200!, c.sp.) = Monoclea gottschei Lindb. subsp. elongata Gradst. & Mues, Pl. Syst. Evol. 189: 115–135. 1992. Type: Bolivia, Ballívian, Serranía del Pilón Lajas, 650 m, 30 October–4 November 1989, S.R. Gradstein 7184 (holotype, U!, c.sp.). Monoclea gottschei Lindb. subsp. australis Gradst. subsp. nov. Type: Chile, Valdivia, Corral, 5 June 1896, P. Dusén 125 (holotype: G 290908/1!, c.sp.; isotype: S 165097!, c.andr.). Validating diagnosis: that of Monoclea gottschei Lindb. subsp. gottschei sensu Gradstein et al. (1992).
