ABSTRACT A series of CeO2 promoted nano Na-ZSM-5 supported chromium oxide catalysts were prepared using impregnation method and characterized by XRD, FE-SEM, DTA-TG, and CO2-TPD techniques. Their catalytic performance of ethane dehydrogenation to ethylene in the presence of CO2 was investigated. The addition of Ce species obviously improve the dispersion of active component Cr species on Na-ZSM-5 catalysts, leading to increase of the activity and stability of the catalysts, and reduction of the amount of carbon deposition on the catalyst surface at the same time. The nano 7.5Ce-7.5Cr/Na-ZSM-5 catalyst exhibits both high activity and stability, with an ethane conversion of ∼20% and ethylene yield of ∼19% without any obvious trend of deactivation in 360 min. Characterization results show that the excellent catalytic performance comes from well dispersion of CrOx species on nano ZSM-5 surface, proper acidic-basic property, and less carbon deposition.
