ABSTRACT This paper presents experimental investigation on E-Glass Epoxy laminated composites subjected to drop weight impact test as per ASTM-D7136M in marine environment. Glass Epoxy specimens with three different orientations were fabricated using compression moulding. These specimens were immersed in artificial sea water of 3.5% salinity in laboratory for period of 15 and 30 days at three different temperatures of 4°C, 23°C and 45°C. The specimens were given central impact as per the testing standards. The test results are obtained for contact force, deflection, and breaking energy of specimens was compared between virgin and immersed specimens. It is observed that impact behaviour of composites is marginally affected over the selected range of immersion temperature. The layup sequence is also found to influence the behaviour in major way. The changes in delamination area due to temperature of immersion are reported.
