ABSTRACT La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ has been synthesized by an advanced combustion technique with step wise modifications by various combustion additives. The quantitative values of the grain sizes obtained from a programmed software has been compared and confirmed by the SEM images. From the grain growth kinetics it was confirmed that sintering mechanism was initiated by volume diffusion. The thermal expansion behaviour and electrical DC conductivity studied as function of temperature have significant dependence on the grain size and the grain size distribution. The conductivity has been observed to be due to electronic contributions only and has been co related to the defect reactions.
