Abstract The phase structure, microstructure and electrical and electromechanical properties of ZnO-doped PbZr0.52Ti0.48O3 (PZT) ceramics were investigated. Piezoelectric ceramics were prepared by the conventional solid-state method. The XRD results indicate that it is the solid solution between the PZT and ZnO. SEM results indicate that the grain size increases and then excessive Zn ions concentrated in the grain boundaries of the ceramics and breaked grain boundaries. The addition of ZnO improved the Curie temperature, and It has a better temperature stability for 0.1 mol% doped PZT ceramics.
