Abstract Waste glass and fly ash are used as main raw materials, borax is used as fluxing agent, and calcium carbonate is used as foaming agent to prepare foam glass. The main factors affecting the performance of foam glass and the appropriate ratio and process were obtained by single factor test and orthogonal test. The macroscopic physical properties such as thermal conductivity and porosity of the product and XRD, DSC-TG and SEM microscopic performance tests were carried out. The results show that the CaCO3 content is 2%, the fly ash content is 10%, the foaming temperature is 875 °C, and the foaming time is 30 min. The thermal conductivity of the obtained foam glass can reach 0.050 W/(m•k). When the fly ash content is 20%, the compressive strength of the foam glass can reach 6.5 MPa.
