Abstract The Chang-8 Member belongs to a low-porosity and low-permeability reservoir. Combined with the geochemical indices, physical properties of reservoirs before and after washing oil, the hydrocarbon accumulation sequence and reservoir compaction history was analyzed. Research shows that there is no biodegradation in flowing oil, but serious biodegradation in reservoir extracts, the maturity of the flowing oil is higher than the reservoir extracts, reservoir porosity increase 2.6% after washing-oil experiment. It is believed that there are two phases of hydrocarbon accumulation and the reservoir has been densified in the main stage of hydrocarbon accumulation.
