ABSTRACT Pakistani English (PE) has emerged as a field of interest and garnered much academic attention in recent years, and a sizable number of scholarly studies have surfaced on its various aspects. This bibliography surveys pertinent research on PE at linguistic, sociolinguistic and historical levels that cover book-length studies, book chapters, and journal articles. At the linguistic level, it covers research on the phonological, lexical, and grammatical characteristics of PE besides code-switching, code-mixing and linguistic hybridization. The survey includes, among other aspects, studies on language and media, language and law, and language attitudes at the sociolinguistic level. At the historical level, it covers studies on the, status, function, and position of English in Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention, however, that this classification is only an approximation and provided for the convenience of the readers. The study believes that researchers will find this bibliography helpful in future research on PE.
