How would you describe the transnational, translinguistic community of your readers, given that you sometimes say that you are not very ‘communitarian’? While there is certainly a ‘ community’ of your readers, the members of this community do not resemble each other and often barely have anything in common. It is neither a group nor a school of thought, yet something in their recognition of your thought binds [lie] them together, produces a bond [lien]. Could we interpret this bond along the lines of the ‘community of social unbinding [d eliaison]’ that you defined in Politics of Friendship? 2
