We read with interest the paper entitled 'Low bone mineral density is associated with breast cancer in postmenopausal women: a case–control study, written by Ferreira Poloni and colleagues. The authors attempted to evaluate risk factors for low bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal breast cancer survivors compared with postmenopausal women without breast cancer. However, although this research was valuable and the results are interesting, some methodological issues should be considered relating to this study.
