Three new diterpenoids from the aerial parts of Callicarpa macrophylla.

Three previously unreported diterpenoids, iso-gaultheric acid (1), 7α-hydroxy-karamatsuic acid (2) and iso-bodinieric acid J (3), along with seven known diterpenoids (4-10), were yielded from the 95% ethanol extract of the… Click to show full abstract

Three previously unreported diterpenoids, iso-gaultheric acid (1), 7α-hydroxy-karamatsuic acid (2) and iso-bodinieric acid J (3), along with seven known diterpenoids (4-10), were yielded from the 95% ethanol extract of the aerial parts of Callicarpa macrophylla Vahl. The elucidation of their structure was accomplished through integrated interpretation of physicochemical characteristics combined with multi-spectral investigations, including 1D/2D NMR, ECD and HR-ESI-MS. Anti-inflammatory activity tests were conducted on the compounds 3-9, revealing that 6 inhibited LDH release with an IC50 value of 14.79 ± 2.69 µM.
