Abstract This study aims at assessing the factorial structure and psychometric properties of the Trauma Exposure Checklist, a psychometric tool developed and applied to the COVID-19 pandemic composed of two scales. A web-survey was completed online by 505 participants. An EFA suggested Loss and Coping as factors for the self-perception exposure scale; and Global Measures and Local Measures as factors for the perceived community support scale, which was supported by confirmatory analysis. Overall, the TEC presented a robust factorial structure and good psychometric properties, appearing to be a valid and reliable measure for assessing protective/risk factors at individual and community levels during crisis triggering events (e.g., COVID-19).
