ABSTRACT To improve the efficiency of specialized cold storage, a multi-functional freezing and refrigerated storage system was developed, of which quick-freezing, differential pressure precooling, freezing-point storage and intelligent defrosting could be performed. It involved parallel control system, hot-gas bypass adjustment, and variable speed control to meet the adjustment capacity under different evaporation temperatures. Results showed that the temperature of the refrigerated storage for frozen food was further steadier and the energy consumption decreased by about 9.7%. There are high control accuracies of temperature (±0.2°C) and relative humidity (±3%) during freezing-point storage. Furthermore, the energy consumption of defrosting decreased by about 30%.
