ABSTRACT I am myself a patient with schizophrenia since 2002, and a scientist in international relations. I work at the University of Hull and am in the process of publishing my 8th book. I am fairly successful, I would say, even though success of course is never enough, I suffer from that syndrome too. I have in my free-time researched schizophrenia and experimented with alternative treatment approaches, including vitamin therapy and spirituality, for example, and written a book about it. It is called Health and Safety for Spirit Seers, Telepaths and Visionaries – Selfhelp for Schizophrenia. What I would like to do in this paper is write about what causes schizophrenia, what it feels like to have schizophrenia, I will talk about alternative, more holistic treatments, and mention the role of stimulants as something that should be looked out for.
