She provides a clear and fairly comprehensive summary of the rapidly growing body of literature looking to boost the use of scientific evidence in the policymaking process (in Chapter 1), literature which generally proceeds without questioning the meaning of ‘evidence’ or ‘policy’ – especially in health and medicine.
