This book is a collection of 19 discrete scholarly essays describing the dynamics and challenges in the Indian higher education system, written by noted educationalists and social scientists. Many of the essayists have been involved in higher education in India as administrators and policymakers for the past decade or longer. Their knowledge of the deep-rooted principles and systems in higher education in India helps to provide readers of this first-ever annual report of the New Delhi-based National University of Educational Planning and Administration (NUEPA) with insights into the dynamics of higher education in India. The report was produced by the Centre for Policy Research in Higher Education (CPRHE).
