Welcome to the 60th anniversary volume of the ASET Journal. It is an honor to serve as the Managing Editor for this special issue in which we pay tribute to The Neurodiagnostic Journal (TNJ) and all the people who have made it a success. Also in this special issue, I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Satya Gedela has graciously accepted a second term as the Journal’s Medical Editor; the Editorial Board and I are grateful for his support and leadership. This anniversary year will also be a time of change and expansion as we will be seeking to fill new roles of Assistant and Associate Editors per Neurodiagnostic modality, both nationally and internationally. I look forward to the many collaborations and relationships this endeavor will surely cultivate for the Journal. TNJ was originally published in 1961 as the American Journal of EEG Technology, also known as AJET, which many people continue to call it today. The title of the journal was changed to the American Journal of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology in 1996, and the simplified to The Neurodiagnostic Journal in 2012. In this issue, I will share some special gems from TNJ’s very first and other milestone issues. Figures 1–7 illustrate the changes of the Journal’s cover over the decades and Tables 1 and 2 provide some interesting data on the success of ASET’s founding leaders who sought to publish a national journal for technologists as a critical and strategic goal for the Society. The first editors were fully volunteer technologists and physicians, and the Journal continues to be supported by numerous volunteer efforts (Table 3). The dedication of all our editor, author and reviewer volunteers to provide guidance on best technique and standards, quality patient care and support and growth of the profession for the past 60 years is evident throughout the pages of each issue.
