ABSTRACT The Peruvian agroecological movement has been strongly shaped by civil society organizations, organized ecological small farmers, market opportunities, academia, and key political advocacy actions. Collectively organized responses with a high degree of self-learning have encouraged a favorable regulatory framework for organic farming, the valuation of our biodiversity, and the recognition of small-scale farmers as a key source of local food. The agroecological movement has grown in learning, organization, and social impact while facing new challenges that need to be solved.
