The two modules are both easy to read and, taken together, they provide an excellent text with a focus on issues, principles and policies rather than specific software solutions. The case studies in the first module are especially useful and for anybody wanting to understand the AIP or the SIP, this must be considered essential reading. Personally, I would have liked the series to have adopted a different approach, perhaps with a degree of interaction and this may reflect the difference between the printed and digital versions of the text. For example, I can envisage a dedicated website from where the bibliography can be explored directly, the sample files downloaded and some dialogue with the community initiated through a forum or a module-specific hashtag. That said, the series is an interesting one and I will certainly look out for other titles.
