Abstract Microfluidics, a field dedicated to manipulating small fluid volumes within microscale channels, involves devices characterized by compact dimensions and low Reynolds numbers due to narrow tube diameters. In this study, we present data obtained from simulating fluid flow through an orifice plate obstruction within an asymmetric serpentine microfluidic channel. These collected data serve as foundational sensory information crucial for constructing a specialized mathematical model for this microchannel. Utilizing ANSYS Fluent, we designed the microfluidic channel for simulations, varying fluid parameters. As the fluid traverses the microchannel and encounters obstruction, it undergoes gradual changes in velocity and pressure at distinct points along the conduit. Additionally, alterations in microchannel dimensions correspondingly affect pressure and velocity. Employing linear regression, we derive a mathematical equation to establish the relationship between differential pressure and inlet velocity. The outcomes of this project contribute to a deeper understanding of fluid dynamics within this specific microfluidic context, specifically focusing on fluid behavior passing through the orifice plate.
