We propose graphene-silicon hybrid tunable grating structure. The graphene sections are interleaved in silicon waveguide. Periodic and chirped grating structures are the two different designs are presented in the paper. The reflectance, transmittance, electric field intensity and fermi energy results are presented for both the structures. The results clearly indicate that filter central wavelength and bandwidth is tuned by changing the graphene sections chemical potential. The period of periodic grating is also changed to check the response. Results show that electric field intensity is decreased and bands are increased by increasing the grating period. The proposed tunable grating structure is envisioned to become building blocks of several infrared systems that is applicable in filters, sensors and circulators.
