In the originally published version of this manuscript, there were errors relating to Table 1 and Table S3which are listed in this erratum as follows: In the “Characteristics of the included trials and patients” section, the reference to “(Table S3)” should read “(Table 1)”. In the “Quality of the trials” section, the first sentence should read “Table S3 summarizes the results of the trial quality assessment.” Instead of “Table 1 summarizes the results of the trial quality assessment.” The second set of column headings in Table 1 were erroneously omitted. These errors have been corrected online.
