We deployed a CO2 deterrent in the field and captured over 2000 fishes representing 13 species. The deterrent reduced catch rates for all species except brown bullhead. Common carp catch rates decreased 10-fold. These results indicate that an inexpensive and rapidly operating deterrent can produce robust responses in the field.
