Life history and energetics of Actinopterygii are analysed using parameters and traits from the Add-my-Pet collection. Actinopterygii are the only vertebrate class that shows metabolic acceleration a short period after birth, and they are near the supply-end of the supply–demand spectrum. Many small freshwater species sport the waste-to-hurry strategy.
