This study systematically evaluated the swimming performance of a pelagic fish species in the Yangtze River under different exposure modes of total dissolved gas (TDG) supersaturation. The lethal exposure significantly deteriorated the Ucrit of silver carps while the non-lethal exposure did not. Water temperature also impacted fish’s swimming ability in TDG supersaturated water. The results can provide a reference for fish conservation during flood discharge.
