Strategic meetings are of the upmost importance for planning of research projects and their implementation. Therefore, every year the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals organize a get-together of researchers from all areas of cardiovascular medicine, both from their own institution, as well as worldwide. They take advantage of the presence of eminent scientists from the faculty of the Cardiology Update London as a sounding board. Accordingly, the 2019 meeting was again held at the Royal Society of Medicine in the distinguished Marcus Beck Library immediately after the Cardiology Update London 19. Again the organizers were fortunate to welcome not only prominent cardiovascular scientists from their own institution, but also guests from abroad, such as Milton Packer from Dallas, Texas, USA, Bernard Gersh from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota, USA, William Wijns from Galway, Ireland; John A. Camm from St. George’s University, London; John Eric Deanfield, from the University College, London and Diana Gorog, from Lister Hospital (Figure 1).
