Abstract Ornithoica aequisenta Maa 1966 (Diptera: Hippoboscidae) is recorded for the first time from a rodent from China. An updated checklist of louse flies including 21 genera and 52 species of Hippoboscoidea (Hippoboscidae, Nycteribiidae, and Streblidae) is presented for mainland China and Taiwan, including collection records and host species.
