INTRODUCTION AND AIMS: The carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (cfPWV) is a noninvasive method to evaluate central arterial stiffness and is associated with future cardiovascular disease and all-cause mortality. Osteopontin (OPN) was recognized as a significant participant in the atherosclerotic inflammatory mediator. We evaluated the association between serum OPN levels and central arterial stiffness in patients with hemodialysis (HD).
