The impact of Covid – 19 continues to influence the incidence of temporary disability among active care general hospital workers. In 2022, sick leaves with the diagnosis: Covid - 19, identified and unidentified virus are the leading cause of incapacity for work among healthcare workers. A survey was conducted among 1423 workers from a multispecialty hospital for active treatment in Bulgaria, 728 sick sheets submitted in 2022 were processed. In the analysis of temporary incapacity, a number of statistical indicators were used - frequency of cases, frequency of days and average duration of one case, as well as the patients by types of diseases and nosological groups. The highest frequency of cases - 46.83 and 19.67 - frequency of lost work days, preventing the performance of work among health professionals and in 2022 is due to the temporary morbidity with the diagnosis: Covid - 19, identified and unidentified virus, followed by diseases from the class of diseases of the bone-muscular system and connective tissue and from the class of neoplasms. The thesis is confirmed that workers in the healthcare sector are exposed to a high risk of biological, ergonomic, and psycho-social risk factors, requiring continuous health monitoring, active prevention of detected diseases and health promotion.
