Objectives: To investigate the proportion, medication use and control rate of metabolic abnormalities such as dyslipidemia in outpatients with hypertension in different levels of hospitals in China. Methods: This cross-sectional trial included outpatients aged more than 18, with hypertension from 69 centers across China between June 2017 to December 2017. All the outpatient were consecutively enrolled in this survey. Results: A total of 3102 hypertensive patients were included. Only half of all hypertensive patients had blood pressure controlled. 91% of all patients were treated with antihypertensive agents and 86% of them had been taken agents for more than 1 year. 73% of 2846 patients who have blood pressure record had tested the lipid level, 73% of them had LDL records and 41% achieve LDL goal. Conclusion: The control rate of hypertension is improved, but still low in China. Many hypertensive patients have never tested the lipid level and the attainment for LDL goal is low.
