Results: Age was 64.4 ± 13.1. Female was 40.1% and the elderly aged > = 65 was 56.8%. Baseline systolic and diastolic blood pressures (SBP/DBP) were 143.6 ± 16.6/83.6 ± 11.5 mmHg for A+N group and 147.3 ± 14.6/84.9 ± 12.6 mmHg for A+C+N group (p = 0.1552/0.4551 for SBP/DBP). At week 24, SBP/DBP were 130.6 ± 13.6/76.0 ± 11.0 mmHg for A+N group and 137.6 ± 16.0/78.4 ± 11.9 mmHg for A+C+N group (p = 0.0036/0.1019 for SBP/DBP). SBP/DBP reductions at 24 weeks were -13.0 ± 19.2/-7.6 ± 12.2 mmHg (p < 0.0001, each) for A+N group and -9.7 ± 16.7/-6.4 ± 11.2 mmHg (p < 0.0001, each) for A+C+N group. There was no signifi cant difference in SBP reductions between A+N group vs. A+C+N group (p = 0.1583). Treatment success rates were signifi cantly improved (36.5% and 25.9% at baseline and 78.4% and 63.9% at week 24 for group A+N and group A+C+N, respectively) (McNemar p values < 0.0001, each group).
