In summary, metoclopramide induced cardiovascular side effects are rare but can be fatal. There is a risk of arrhythmias which may progress to atrial fibrillation, bradyarrythmia, SVT and cardiac arrest. The route of drug administration and rate of injection may play a role as causative factor too. In most of these cases, metoclopramide was administered intravenously either peripherally or centrally.
