Second, the authors contend that a recommendation made based on a series of case reports should not be consideredGRADEA evidence. To review, the GRADE system was developed as an approach to rate quality of evidence and strength of recommendations. According to the system, GRADE A evidence is defined as a recommendation based on several high-quality studies (i.e., randomized controlled trials) with consistent results, or in special cases, one large, high-quality multicenter trial. No such studies were presented in the article.
