patients where general anesthesia is contraindicated, a stepwise approach to surgical treatment, such as in this case, may be superior. The instrument used in surgery should ideallyminimize thermal damage to the tissue and provide adequate hemostasis, especially if the surgeon is treating an area where epinephrine injection is contraindicated. The patient in this case tolerated local anesthesia well and had no postoperativemorbidity related to the use of epinephrine in the chin or nose.
