evidence. Despite its limitations, the undeniable photographic evidence of improvement in these patients will hopefully motivate others to explore this further. Frompersonal experience, using PRP for patientswith cicatricial alopecia yields mixed results. In the future, hopefully studies will begin to examine why some patients are responders and others are not. Is there a certain growth factor lacking in nonresponders? In the end, given the lack of appropriate treatment options and anectdotal evidence of benefit, PRP should still be offered to patients especially if other conventional therapies have failed.
