Prognosis of cutaneous meningiomas is largely determined based on type. Type I lesions have a favorable prognosis if clear surgical margins are achieved intraoperatively. Type II and III lesions tend to have a poorer prognosis as these lesions may lack classical histological features of congenital meningiomas mentioned above. In addition, Type III lesions may be inoperable if their intracranial direct extension abuts vital structures. Fortunately, the patient did not have intracranial extension of her lesion. This finding confirmed a Type II cutaneous meningioma, representing ectopic arachnoid tissue.
