According to cadaveric studies, the 2 most important midline nasal arteries, namely the lateral and dorsal nasal arteries, lie in subcutaneous tissue or the SMAS; therefore, deep injection is usually recommended to ensure safety. However, superficial injection is vital for 3-dimensional sculpting of the nose. Given such considerations, we proposed that with proper preconditioning, rhinoplasty with a 2 layer injection may be safer and provide better aesthetic results.
