Laryngeal tubes are the standard supraglottic airway devices of many Emergency Medical Services, as handling and oxygenation out-of-hospital seems to be easier than intubation with direct laryngoscopy. However, intubation through the original version of the laryngeal tube was difficult or impossible. The new disposable intubating laryngeal tube suction (iLTS-D, VBM Medizintechnik GmbH, Sulz, Germany; Fig. 1) is easy to insert with little training and it is designed to facilitate intubation.
