This is indeed a very moving milestone for me. I enjoy my work, and I always strive to do a good job. I never conduct my work with the expectation of recognition, but I do like to push the bar a little higher. I am quite honored and humbled to receive the 2018 Elda E. Anderson Award. Elda Anderson has been a true inspiration to me, especially as a woman in health physics. Reflecting on the past recipients of this award, many of whom I have had the opportunity to meet this past week, I am very humbled to be in their company. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to get to know and work with many of the past recipients. I am very humbled to be considered in their line of pedigree. Like Elda Anderson, I have established a rewarding early career at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which itself has a historic legacy in health physics. Elda Anderson rooted her career in the Health Physics Division of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which after a few generations has become the Center for Radiation Protection Knowledge
