the Moria system, which came supplied with a 65-mm Hg Barraquer tonometer. We aimed for a meniscus diameter slightly smaller than the tonometer ring, that is, a pressure of 65 mm Hg or just above. Thinning was not a 2-stage procedure. The theater light was used to speed up the deturgessing process in very thick donor corneas, simply by warming the surrounding air. We have found that all donor corneas can be thinned to the required thickness using this method, no matter how thick they are when first removed from organ culture.
