available at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30228092 Editorial Comment: The authors present 5 children who underwent renal transplantation into bladder drained by vesicostomy with good results. This is not the first article that describes transplant into a diverted system, but it provides further support for vesicostomy as an option in a small child who requires a transplant. This approach dramatically simplifies the management of cases that would otherwise require undiversion before transplantation. The undiversion, if it indeed becomes necessary as the child ages, can be done in a safer environment with better kidney function and, in my view, better results. Douglas A.
