Our patient met all 5 criteria required for diagnosis. Half of reported cases of LCV are idiopathic, but other etiologies include medications, infection, connective tissue diseases, and malignancy. Commonly associated medications include antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and diuretics. Among the antibiotics, beta-lactam groups are most commonly associated with LCV, but a comprehensive literature search identified only 1 case suggesting the association of ceftriaxone with LCV.1 Treatment of small vessel vasculitis involves discontinuation of the offending agent in most cases. In life-threatening conditions, glucocorticoids and cyclophosphamide may be used.
